Wild Hog Hunts
Come stay with us!
Have you always wanted to visit the beautiful Nature Coast of Florida? How about hunting for a wild hog? Are you craving one of Allison’s home cooked meals? Interested in some of Mark’s shenanigans?
Then you’re in luck!
We’re now offering all of those opportunities and more!
Located in Inglis, Florida
Our two bedroom cabin can accommodate up to four guests and we have maintained feeders on our private property for HOG HUNTING ONLY for up to three hunters. We are offering strictly archery hunting only.
The cost of renting the cabin is $225 per night (not per guest) with a $100 cleaning fee for your whole stay. There is a 2 night minimum per stay. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your stay. The remainder is due upon check in. Cash prefered but card accepted.
Not interested in hunting? Then you get to stay for just $125 per night! Cleaning fee and $200 deposit still required.
You’ll have access to our three maintained hunting stands/blinds. This is a fair chase, DIY hunt. Obviously we‘ll be around and can help track or drag if you’d like. We only live just down the street! So you can hunt whenever you want and stay in the stands for however long or short a sit as you like. Nighttime hog hunting is legal in Florida, so bring your lights or use ours. You don’t even have to hunt for your entire stay. Bring your rods and go fishing instead! We’re not in the business of babysitting, although we’d probably like to join you! There’s even enough room to bring your boat!
Now let me tell you a little about our cabin…..
This old wooden building was once an office building at a local sawmill. It was deconstructed, moved to its current location, rebuilt and converted to a two bedroom cabin by its previous owners in the 1970’s. It was used as a hunting cabin and a place for the family to meet up and spend time together hunting, fishing, hiking, and exploring. Once the family grew older and moved on it sat empty and unused.
Now that it’s ours, we’ve brought it back to life and are excited to see it filled again with outdoorsmen of a similar ilk.
What the cabin has to offer:
One full bed and two twin beds, all linens included
A full bath with towels and necessities
Full kitchen with basic eating/cooking utensils. Coffee pot, microwave, stove/oven, refrigerator, crockpot.
There’s a TV in the living room with a VHS/DVD player.
We currently do not have cable, internet, or a washer/dryer available.
Are you ready to go hunting?
Once you get here we’ll ask that you sign Florida’s private property hunting release form. There are no additional licensing or fees involved with hunting for wild hogs on private property.
We are offering ARCHERY HUNTING ONLY. Don’t bring your guns or rifles to hunt with, you will be asked to leave. It may not look like it, but there are other houses around and we don’t want bullets flying into neighbors yards. The property is surrounded by 24K acres of public hunting land, so you may hear gun shots, we just don’t want them in our backyard.
And speaking of that 24K acres of public land, it is unfortunately closed to anyone without a specialty use permit that is only available for purchase in June and always sell out as soon as they become available. There are a number or other public hunting lands available in the area, so be sure to check them out too. Florida likes to keep things confusing, so they all have their own season dates and requirements. A list of them is available towards the bottom of this page.
We have three stands/blinds for you to choose from and/or rotate between. Each stand has a maintained corn feeder at its location. The stands are set for a traditional hunter in mind, they are low and close. Can you hunt with a compound? Sure. We’ll probably tease you relentlessly but you can do it. Can you hunt with a cross bow? You bet! But we may make you wear a dress and call you Nancy for the remainder of your stay. The choice is yours!
Baiting in Florida for hogs is allowed, so feel free to bring whatever baits or scent lures you’d like! We could even make some sour corn prior to your stay if you’d like! Just ask us beforehand to make some.
Hunter safety equipment is not provided, please be sure to bring your own!
A few house rules:
NO DOGS. I’m sure yours is the best, most well behaved fluffy wuffy snuggle buttons on the planet, we just don’t care. Leave him/her at home please. You will be asked to leave if you show up with a dog.
NO RIFLES/GUNS. This isn’t some attack on your second amendment rights, trust me. We just don’t want them being shot down the road from our house. This is a NO EXCEPTIONS rule and you will be asked to leave if we find the rule violated. This doesn’t apply to side arms or conceal carry pieces. We again, just don’t want any shots fired down the road.
NO SMOKING INSIDE. And if you must smoke outside, please don’t leave your butts all over the ground. This includes vaping. Nobody wants to smell your blueberry muffin fake tobacco products. I mean, if you’re going to smoke at least be a man about it….
Please don’t filet fish in our bathtub…. I‘m not joking. It’s something people actually do in rentals.
Accidents happen, please just clean up after yourselves.
Treat this cabin like it’s your home away from home! Unless you live in squaller, in that case treat it better than your home please!
What else can you do while you’re here?
They don’t call this place the Nature Coast for nothing! Our area has so much to offer aside from just hunting!
There are several natural springs in the area. Rainbow River, Hunter Springs, Three Sisters, Manatee Springs, Devil’s Den are just a few that are within driving distance.
The fishing is amazing off the coast! There are 4 local boat ramps if you brought your own boat. If not you can always fish from shore, we can point you in the direction of a few spots. Also, reach out to our friend and local fishing captain Justin Dymond of Florida Bowfishing Adventures to book a bow fishing trip. Tell him we sent you.
